The world of online casinos is doing well, if 888.com's first quarter profits are anything to go by.
Its recently-published income report for the first four months of 2008 revealed that its profits have soared from £24 million in this period of 2007 to £33 million this year.
Chief executive of 888.com Gigi Levy said: "We are delighted with our quarter one 2008 results especially given that we achieved further growth in the quarter well and above the unusually high quarter four of 2007."
He added that the firm is confident it can continue to build on this success throughout the rest of the year.
The 35 per cent rise the firm experienced was boosted by a five per cent rise in business from its PacificPoker product alone.
Headquartered in Gibraltar, 888.com has a customer support team that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for those playing on any of its sites.
It offers assistance over the phone, email and live chat in 11 different languages to ensure players of all nationalities can receive support.
