Researchers have noted a positive link between online casinos and the environment.
According to a report from online casino.org a Canadian researcher is asserting that online casinos curb the carbon footprint which land-based casinos generate.
Claude Alexander, a retired global warming researcher, has said that the electricity required to power a casino is "beyond belief", adding: "The lights, air-conditioning, smoke-filled card rooms, and the jet-fuel to fly-out there; these are legitimate concerns."
Mr Alexander added that to put all of the land-based casinos in the world out of business would save several billion units of carbon emission daily, reports Online Casino Sphere.
In comparison he noted that the effect of online casinos on the environment is minimal, added the news provider.
Meanwhile, online casino provider William Hill is currently tempting new players to sign up by offering a cash bonus of between £25 and £10,000 when they create a new player account.
