Boom in online gambling sees revenue increase for online casino
Online casino provider 32Red has said that a surge in interest in online gambling has seen its revenues rise 26.6 per cent in the first half of the year.
According to Forbes magazine, this took its total revenue to £6.6 million.
In a trading update, the online casino site said gaming revenues rose 32 per space cent from the second half of 2007.
Currently, the site is attracting new players by offering them a 100 per cent welcome bonus which would see first-time casino players being treated to double their initial deposit on amounts up to £250 for slots and fruit machine games only.
In related news, a researcher recently asserted that using online casinos is better for the environment as they do not use the same amount of electricity and lighting as the real buildings.
According to Casino.org Claude Alexander, a retired global warming researcher, claims the electricity required to power a casino is "beyond belief".
