For the first time in its four-year history, the Florida Gaming Summit will look into the issue of responsible gambling.
The event takes place between October 6th and 7th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and delegates will be discussing how gambling in casinos and other gambling venues effects society.
A statement from the organisers of the conference said that one of the topics to be addressed at the industry gathering would be how individuals and communities are impacted by gambling.
Charles Anderer, group publisher of gaming at BNP Media, one of the firms producing the event in Florida, said: "One of the hot-button issues in any expanding gaming jurisdiction is problem gambling."
He added that legislators and local officials "are increasingly demanding that the industry take steps to minimise potential problems".
According to the event's official website, it is expected that there will be around 300 gambling experts participating in the summit next week.
