A prize of more than £60,000 is on offer to the winner of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) main event at the G Casino on the Isle of Thanet in Kent.
Organisers expect that around 200 poker players will descend on the casino for the event, with the winner to qualify for the Champion of Champions tournament following the GUKPT's finale.
The tour arrives in Kent after heading through various towns and cities across the UK, including Brighton, Walsall and, most recently, Bolton in Greater Manchester.
Tony Cascarino, the former Millwall, Marseille, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Republic of Ireland striker, won the latter event.
Various events take place throughout the week on the Isle of Thanet and the whole occasion runs from October 13th to 19th.
Poker Player magazine reports that 50 players have already qualified for the event by playing poker at online casinos.
