A couple who recently tried their luck at the Monopoly Slot online casino game at Mecca Bingo are now £12,500 better off.
The gamers, who go by the name eyesdown1 in the online world, picked up the prize just one day after celebrating their 40th anniversary together.
Getting in touch with Mecca Bingo to explain their good fortune, eyesdown1 said that the money will be used to pay for their celebrations.
The lucky pair are heading off on a Caribbean cruise in December, while the day before the windfall was spent renewing vows in Gretna Green and eating at a posh hotel – so the money will apparently come in handy for paying for that.
Mecca Bingo's representative Bingo Dave wished the winners well but, with tongue no doubt in cheek, did ask to be considered if there was a spare ticket for the luxury cruise.
