| 'Thank-you' issued to Gambling Commission director |
Chief executive of the Gambling Commission Jenny Williams has thanked Beryl Brown for the work she has undertaken as director of policy and communications at the organisation.
Ms Brown has announced that she is to step down from the position on October 31st 2008 to "seek new challenges" and the chief of the group has wished her well for the future, and highlighted the positive role she has played.
"The Policy and Communications Directorate has achieved a great deal under Beryl's leadership and together they have been fundamental in shaping the commission and our policy framework," said Ms Williams.
Ms Brown has been in the job for the last two and a half years, but feels that the time is right to move on.
The Gambling Commission was formally established in October 2005 and was set up under the Gambling Act of that year.
It has regulated casinos, bingo, gaming machines and lotteries in that time, taking over from the Gaming Board for Great Britain in doing so.
