William Hill spokesperson Jennie Prest has posed the question "what credit crunch?"
Her comment comes after a William Hill online player won nearly £200,000 playing a selection of games at the site.
The lucky individual, who earned herself a total of £199,988 after playing bingo and some lottery games at the portal, wishes to remain anonymous, but did say she was pleased with the windfall.
She also claimed that she had never thought she would ever win a six-figure sum like this "in a million years".
In a statement revealing the news of the win, Ms Prest said: "What credit crunch? Making £199,988 profit in ten days is some return for £12."
An announcement made late last month revealed that William Hill had teamed up with software provider Playtech for the next few years.
The deal will see the bookmaker's casino games provided by Playtech, with the option of other William Hill platforms being powered by the group's technology in the near future.
