Gala Coral chairman to leave next month
The chairman of the casino, betting and bingo group Gala Coral will be leaving his position at the company next month.

John Kelly was due to leave towards the end of 2009, but will bring forward his departure date by ten months, reports the Times.

Deputy chairman Neil Goulden, who also holds the position of Business in Leisure and Sport chairman, was scheduled to take Mr Kelly's place next year, but it is unclear whether he is ready to assume his new responsibilities after Christmas.

According to the newspaper, Mr Kelly is not thought to have been pushed - it is his own decision to leave early.

Gala Bingo, which is owed by Gala Coral, recently announced a new environmentally-friendly scheme for its UK halls.

Along with Southern Electric, the bingo company is handing out free energy-saving lightbulbs to its members to try to highlight the positive aspects of going 'green'.
