The Gambling Commission has been in touch with the casino industry to advise them on new developments regarding identification.
A letter was sent to trade associations in the sector, warning that the UK Border Agency has started issuing compulsory identity cards for foreign nationals.
These new documents can be used for official purposes and casinos have been told that they provide proof of name and age, among other issues.
In a statement on its website, the Gambling Commission said: "The commission has released [a] letter to the casino trade associations, for the attention of all licensed casino operators."
Last week, the Bingo Association revealed that it will keep members of the trade group up-to-date with developments concerning gaming machines in UK-based numbers game halls.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport had called for an order to be laid before parliament suggesting that more Category B3 gaming machines should be allowed on bingo operators' premises.
