Gala Coral boost
Betting, casino and bingo firm Gala Coral is confident that next year will see an improvement on 2008 in terms of bingo.

According to the Times, chief executive of the company Dominic Harrison is expecting a "modest increase" in this sector over the coming 12 months.

He indicated that bingo is starting to recover after the negative impact of the smoking ban and the removal of big-jackpot gaming machines from bingo club premises.

Gala Coral has ended up having to close four casinos and 13 bingo establishments since smoking was banned from public places.

It is not the only gambling company to have both a land-based and online presence in the industry.

Ladbrokes and William Hill are two other bookmakers that provide gamers with internet betting options such as poker, casino and bingo, alongside their high street betting shops.

William Hill Bingo is currently offering festive-themed promotions It's a Cracker and Jingle Balls, among other games, to its members.
