| Gambling operators warned |
Gambling operators such as casinos and bingo firms have been issued a warning by their industry's regulator.
The deadline for the regulatory returns is midnight tonight and companies who have not handed theirs in by that time risk being fined £100 by the Gambling Commission.
A statement from the organisation earlier this week indicated that the warning was relevant to operators that have held a licence since September 1st 2007 and whose returns are overdue.
No action is needed from groups that have completed their first annual regulatory returns.
Director of regulation at the Gambling Commission Nick Tofiluk, who took on his current role after being Assistant Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police, gave some further advice to operators.
"We recommend they use the secure online regulatory returns service to complete their return before Wednesday," he said
Following this guidance may prevent a financial penalty being imposed and regulatory action being taken, the former policeman continued.
