There may be one or two more casino closures in the UK in the near future, according to an industry expert.
Hugh Sorrill, deputy editor of Casino Review magazine, has claimed that "times are tough" for the sector at present.
Like most industries, the casino world has been affected by the economic downturn, but it has also suffered since the smoking ban came into force.
Mr Sorrill suggested that casinos "will probably" be able to weather the current storm.
"They have been through this before and they will probably hang on," he explained, before adding that the casino sector in the UK is in a better state than its German counterpart.
His comments come after Casino Red in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire closed down earlier this year.
Casino Review provides its readers with the latest European and world casino news, which includes information about exhibitions, suppliers and other sector commentary.
